WhatsApp Is Working on a Message Reminder Feature
WhatsApp is testing a notification system to prevent incoming messages from being overlooked. The feature was spotted in the Android WhatsApp beta version 2.24.25.29 and appears to be an extension of the status update reminders introduced in the 2.24.22.21 beta build.
According to WABetaInfo, the platform uses an algorithm to identify the users you interact with the most. It then sends reminder notifications for unread messages from those users. This eliminates the need to constantly check the app and ensures that you don’t miss messages from your frequent contacts.
Currently, the message reminder feature is being tested with a limited number of users. If everything goes according to plan, it might be rolled out for general use in the future. However, it’s important to note that not all tested features make it to a public release. Once launched, the feature can be activated by navigating to Settings > Notifications.
